2021 Citroen e-C4 Review: Electric Value
The new Citroen C4 range is out and something very cool has come out of it – an electric model.The e-C4 as it is known is the first electric car from Citroen and it makes sense to have this new variant.
There is a 50 kWh battery powering a 100kW/134hp electric motor which can push the car from 0-62mph in 9.7 seconds and has a range of 217 miles WLTP.
The car has a distinct new look with a coupe style rear and a raised stance making it look like an SUV even though it’s not one. This added ground clearance is great specially in places where the roads aren’t even and it helps with parking as you are less likely to damage those alloys.
Talking of the wheels there are 18 inch alloys as standard which add to the look of the car despite sitting in a wide wheel arch due to the raised height.
The e-C4 is available in three different trim levels; Sense Plus, Shine and Shine Plus priced at £30,395, £31,345 & £32,525 AFTER the £3,000 UK grant for electric cars.
The sweet spot has to be the Shine trim as it comes with all the driver assistance features you could need and a Head Up Display. The car in the video is the Shine trim and as a package it is outstanding.
How long does the e-C4 take to charge? It can charge at 100 kW which is 0-80% in half an hour at a fast charger. Keep an eye on the channel for my video on how this car connects up at charging points!
This car has a clever suspension system that is designed to be comfortable by being firm in corners and compliant on the bumps using progressive hydraulic cushion technology. This means that you don’t feel like your being wafted around a corner but feel great on the straights.
In the interior there is a shelf for your phone and it’s wide and deep enough for even the largest new mobile phones; and then there is the tablet drawer and mount! You will finally be able to watch your iPad Air 2 or Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 in the car by using the included tablet case.

This car is the complete package; with advanced technology, great design, comfort and being an electric supremely economical and good for the environment.
I give it 26/30 and recommend that anyone who is thinking of a stylish hatchback with a raised ride height check the new C4 out.
