Bentley Flying Spur V8 Flies to Customers
If you are after a new Flying Spur V8 then you will be pleased to know that is has entered full production at Bentley’s Crewe headquarters, the world’s first carbon neutral factory so that the first cars are on their way to retailers and lucky customers.
Each new Flying Spur V8 is built by hand, taking over 100 hours to do so across 84 individual stages. The new V8-powered Flying Spur builds on a distinguished lineage and an example of this is that it takes 141 craftspeople using three kilometres of thread to combine 350 unique leather pieces to make the 60 components that form the interior.
The Flying Spur V8 is driver-centric with improved agility and a more emphatic engine note, which also gets increased range between petrol stops of up to 441 miles (WLPT) and sees a 15% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to the W12 version.
The beating heart of this car is a 4.0-litre, twin turbocharged V8 engine, producing 550 PS (542 bhp, 404 kW) and using twin-scroll turbos to reach its maximum torque of 770 Nm at 2,000 rpm.
To maximise fuel economy, the V8 can shut down four of its eight cylinders under light-load conditions, when torque demand is below 235 Nm and below 3000 rpm.

The app includes the ability to ‘find my car’ and ‘lock my car’, as well as car status and statistics and lets you turn on the heating even when not in the car remotely.

The car includes Apple CarPlay but not Android Auto which is a let down considering that the app is available on both Android and iPhone.
If you after amazing sound then you can spec a Naim sound system so the Flying Spur is the ultimate place to work or relax while on the road.
In the rear customers can chose a four seat configuration benefiting from a long, through-console extending from the front console to the rear. The console includes a new housing for the 5” touchscreen remote, twin cupholders, extra stowage and the option of a wireless charging point. The rear armrest includes a bright metal finisher and hides two USB ports and a 12v power socket.
Electrically operated picnic tables mounted in the rear of the front seat can be unwound with a single button. Each table which is covered in veneer then lowers and levels electrically and has a leather surface with a recess for a writing equipment. Holding the button down the table will go back up.
This car combines technology and power to make a fierce and exciting new addition to the Bentley portfolio.
