Wireless Android Auto & CarPlay on BMW 2020

We have been waiting for Wireless and Widescreen Android Auto to join Apple CarPlay and be available in production cars.

Android Auto has always been a step behind CarPlay in terms of adoption despite more Android phones being used worldwide.

BMW was one of the hold outs resisting the use of Android Auto in its cars but no longer; as of this year BMW has taken a step past the competition with wireless Android Auto.

WIRELESS ANDROID AUTO & CARPLAY 2021

How is it different from wired Android Auto? After initially setting it up your Android phone will automatically connect to the car when you get in it; and if the car has a wireless charging pad then it will also charge.

Android Auto gives you access to the Google Assistant for voice control as well as Google Maps and Waze to make sure you always get to where you need to go.

It also has you covered with music – access to Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music and YouTube Music to name just a few means you always have your favourite tunes on the road.

All of your contacts will be available with voice and phone calls will automatically be routed through to your car. Having this done wirelessly takes it to another level of conveniance.

Apple CarPlay works exactly the same way if you have an iPhone and gives you access to Siri.
